When we introduced you to SNO Trailers a while back, we talked about why the R-20 trailer from SNO Trailers is the ultimate hunting setup. Now that we’ve had these trailers in stock for a while, we’ve gotten to know them a bit better and have lined up a few top features to discuss.  And, we know it’s the time of year when hunters are planning their adventures for the fall, so let’s talk about why we think these are the ultimate hunting trailer.

Aside from the rugged build quality of this trailer - which ensures you can use it in all sorts of conditions for years to come -  this trailer has loads of amenities for your hunting trips. There is gun storage, a rooftop tent, and a fully-featured galley, among plenty of other goodies. You can take a peek at these and other features in Brody’s video below:

Let’s dive into these specs and features a little deeper so you can see just how well the SNO Trailers R-20 is set up for your hunting adventures. As you’ll see, this isn’t just a trailer for hunting, though. With the standard and optional features available, you can use this trailer for quick weekend getaways, long overlanding trips, and all sorts of adventures in between!

The SNO Trailers R-20 Excels in the Build Quality Department

When you shell out the green stuff to pay for a trailer, you want to ensure you get your money’s worth. Build quality is an essential feature, yet some companies simply don’t meet the bar. Not only does SNO Trailers meet the bar - they’ve set the bar for others to meet.

The R-20 combines the usual superb build quality you’d expect from SNO Trailers and Remington. Every body panel, suspension component, and door latch on this trailer looks, feels, and operates like the high-quality component it was meant to be. It sounds cliche, but you know that a trailer is well-built when everything works as it should. As you’re rolling down the road or trail, you don’t have to worry about whether this trailer will make it without falling apart!

When you open and close compartment doors on this trailer, you’ll notice that the doors do so smoothly. The latches have a pleasing mechanical feel to them, and when you close the latches, you can feel and hear them lock into place. With doors and access panels that fit like a glove into their openings, you reap the benefits of weather-sealed areas to keep your food, gear, and other necessities.

But this trailer doesn’t just impress in terms of the build quality of things you can easily see. Inside the storage compartments, for example, you’ll see a continuation of impeccable craftsmanship with panels that fit perfectly together. Heck, even the underside of the trailer is built like a tank - its steel frame is powder-coated and has a proprietary anti-ruse base coating to give it long-lasting protection from the elements.

In other words, from top to bottom, inside and out, the SNO Trailers R-20 does the Remington name proud - and gives you a rig you can rely on whether you’re a few minutes from home, thousands of miles away, and points in between.

The R-20 Has Enough Storage for Adventures of All Kinds

Hunting trips, camping trips, and overlanding trips all require certain gear to get the job done while you’re gone. And the amount of gear you need always seems to be way more than you’d expect!

Where some trailers fail in the storage department, the R-20 again sets the bar high with all kinds of storage and all sorts of storage, too…

One of the first things you notice about this trailer is the wide-body kit. The kit includes two side boxes - one on either side of the trailer - that give you easy-to-access storage space with internal drawers and dividers to keep your gear organized.

Better still, these side boxes have drop-down shelves, so you can use the box doors as additional workspace. For example, you can have a travel buddy use the passenger-side drop-down shelf to prepare ingredients for dinner while you’re stationed at the pull-out kitchen getting the stove ready to cook up your food.

The SNO Trailers R-20 has storage up top, too. The SNORAC stands up from the top of the trailer, which allows you to carry gear underneath the rooftop tent platform. But this isn’t just an empty void; instead, SNO Trailers has incorporated cross bars and pre-drilled holes that allow you to organize and mount your gear for safe travels while you’re on the road.

Other handy storage elements include the following:

  • A rear-mounted spare tire rack.
  • Rear-mounted fuel and water storage.
  • A rear-access dirt box where you can store wheel chocks, recovery gear, or other items that are too dirty to keep with your food, clothing, and other gear.
  • A large fixed storage compartment up front with a large door on either side for easy access. Both doors have Molle panels as well.
  • A nose box up front with storage for recovery items. The nose box also contains the brains of the trailer’s electronics system.

Smart Kitchen Features Make the SNO Trailers R-20 the Hub of Camp Life

If you love to cook for yourself and others while you’re hunting, camping, or overlanding, the SNO Trailers R-20 is an ideal option. The kitchen is built around a stainless steel pull-out on the passenger side of the trailer. The pull-out offers a countertop for meal prep, a Dometic sink, faucet, and water jug for cleaning up, and a Camp Chef two-burner stove.

Above the kitchen pull-out is a fixed storage compartment that offers yet more space for keeping cooking items within easy reach. As mentioned earlier, the door to this compartment has a Molle panel. As an added bonus, SNO Trailers has included a magnetic spice rack with the Molle panel, so you can make your campsite cooking all the better!

The kitchen area extends to the rear of the trailer, where you’ll find a large rear compartment for storage. Inside that compartment is a slide equipped with a 70-liter Remington cooler. Whether it’s cold drinks, meat from a recent hunting trip, or milk for your cereal, this cooler will keep your food cold and fresh for the duration of your trip. This slide is powered, too, so you can add a fridge/freezer combo of your choice and easily connect it to the trailer’s power.

The kitchen area is protected by an included OVS 270-degree awning. Whether you’re washing dishes at the kitchen slide-out, serving food on the drop-down shelf, or grabbing something out of the cooler at the back of the trailer, this awning provides shade and protection from the elements. It’s also height adjustable for all you tall folks out there!

Keep Your Guns Safe in the SNO Trailers R-20

Heading out with weapons requires you to have a safe spot to store them, and the R-20 certainly accommodates you with multiple storage options for handguns and long rifles.

Hidden inside the kitchen slide-out is a handgun safe that’s protected with a keyed lock and a fingerprint scanner. Once opened, the safe drops down to reveal a storage stray with an insert you can have laser cut to fit your specific handgun and magazines.

This trailer is also equipped with long rifle storage on the passenger side. The integrated mounts allow you to safely store an AR-15 with the ability to lock the rifle in place. Then, at the back of the trailer, you’ll find a locking 54-inch long gun case. Again, the case has an insert you can have laser cut to your particular gun to provide the ultimate in secure storage for your trips.

A Better Trailer for a Better Trip

Needless to say, the SNO Trailers R-20 has everything you need for a safe, comfortable trip. You’ll find storage galore, a well-appointed kitchen, and a rock-solid suspension to get you where you’re going. And once you get there, you can rack out in an OVS Sherpa Rooftop tent!

There are plenty more features that make this a better trailer for your outdoor adventures. We know there are lots of options in the adventure/overland trailer category, but these SNO/Remington trailers really are the ultimate setup for anyone that likes to hunt off grid in the backcountry.
